Detailed description

The Rotary Club of Dasmarinas Cavite (RCDC) has taken simple measures to prevent the proliferation of dengue virus-carrying mosquitoes in the community by educating the community health workers of Barangay Salawag in the City of Dasmarinas Cavite. The community workers were gathered and a seminar were conducted by RCDC through its Rotarian member – Physician, Dr. Charlene Fabella-Narciso. This project aims at re-educating the health workers on dengue prevention and awareness. The health workers were the target audience because they are the ones who have direct access to the community. They can effectively disseminate to their constituents the simple and effective ways to prevent dengue through personal protection and proper management of their surroundings or environment. Citronella plants are known to be mosquito repellant. RCDC distributed 50 pieces of this plant to the attendees which they will also propagate and distribute to the communities.
