Detailed description
The Yonkers Rotary Club sponsored a shipment of books, which was put together and distributed at the end of February 2016 to a small community of consisting of only 250 residents located in the Southern part of Costa Rica. The partnership consisted of the Yonkers Rotary Club, 2 Rotary Clubs in Colorado, 1 Club in Costa Rica and the Give-a-Book Foundation. The project was part of the collaboration agreement between Rotary and the Peace Corps. Nicola Gallagher from Yonkers is a Peace Corps Volunteer in the small community. Nicola reports that the books have been divided by grade level in each classroom and the students have started to read them already.
