Under the leadership of Governor Lisa Elorde, the Rotary District 3810 initiated the oral polio vaccine for children in Baseco, Tondo, Phlippines. It is a nationwide campaign to eradicate polio as it emerged again in the country, which is a polio-free country since 9 years ago. In the Philippines, there is a program called Sabayang Patak which allows oral polio vaccination for 0-5 years old children nationwide, on October 14, 2019 as mandated by the Department of Health. The District officers and Champion Presidents of the Rotary District 3810 participated in this program. Each and everyone experienced giving oral polio vaccine. We were assisted by the doctors and health workers in the country as we became part of this historic event to end polio to save lives. A house to house campaign followed after to make sure that each and every child was given oral polio vaccine.
