Detailed description
The Rotary Club of Reno partnered with the City of Reno's Arts and Culture Commission to establish a sculpture garden in Bicentennial Park with a rotating outdoor exhibition that will be an integral part of Reno's growing public art program. The project commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the club. Six concrete pads and pedestals were engineered and constructed to showcase the sculptures. Through a local juried selection, six sculptures were selected by members of the Public Art Committee and Project Committee of the Reno Rotary Club. New sculptures will be selected by different local arts organizations and rotated annually. The next organization will be the University of Nevada Art Department, featuring student creations. The addition of public art in this downtown park along the Truckee River has changed the type of activity happening there, focusing more on family outings and art appreciation.
