Detailed description
The purpose of this project was to provide clean water to St. Rosa de Lima Catholic School, a kindergarten to 9th grade school of 280 students in a rural community in Haiti. Having clean running water at the school means functioning toilets and hand washing facilities. The school had running water until February when their pump broke. Joel Goodman and Bruno Reich, from The Ellicott City Rotary club accompanied Sante Total, a medical mission group to Jacsonville where they were joined by AG Evenel Osias of the Rotary Club of Pignon, to jointly oversee the coordinated project effort. One of the goals of this project was to utilize as many laborers from Jacsonville as possible. The students at St. Rose del Lima school, as well as the school’s 20 staff members, and the Jacsonville community at large were very grateful for this project.
