A dedicated training centre for generating livelihood for women
“Swashray” is Rotary Midtown’s permanent vocational training centre where women of lower middle class are trained in various fields, such as computers, sewing, beauty care, dancing, cooking, art work, & other areas so that they can earn their bread with their own efforts. The centre was incubated by RCRM in 2003, and in a short span of 6 years, 2000 jobs were created in the field of computers, another 2,000 in technical categories, 1,500 in simple category, 700 were placed at beauty care, and 130 were placed as a daily wage earner. The club members, apart from sourcing donation from external sources, are voluntarily donating hundreds of sewing machines & other basic amenity tools each year for uplifting the facilities in the centre.
