Detailed description

The School for Exceptional Children in Bogor Indonesia provides special education for children with autism, based in Bogor Indonesia and is a not-for-profit organisation which operates independently of government support, with parent members running the school. Rotary Club of Flemington adopted the school as an International Project in 2013 and has provided financial support for educational materials, as well as organizing two teacher exchanges to further knowledge. Teachers from the school visited in 2014 and received training from the Western Autistic School, Olga Tennyson Institute at LaTrobe University and visited local Government schools where children with autism are integrated. In 2015, two teachers from the Western Autistic School visited Bogor and provided training for staff as well as auditing current practices and creating a report for future development. Both exchanges were organised and funded by Flemington Rotary.
