Rotary Club of Greene/Putnam is now offering military veterans ability to adopt animal.
Military veterans in the Lake Country now have an easier way to adopt pets. The Rotary Club of Greene/Putnam Counties has recently launched the Pets Love Vets program.
Pets Love Vets brings community resources together and has a direct impact on the quality of life of both a veteran and a shelter dog – an immediate, simple process that facilitates the healing partnership between vet and pet. The driving organization in this endeavor is the Rotary Club of Greene/Putnam Counties, along with other Rotary clubs in east central Georgia. Local pet shelters handle the adoptions of the dogs; the Rotary Club handles funding, assists with and coordinates the adoption process, adoption expenses, preliminary veterinary expenses, and training for both pet and veteran. There is no cost to each veteran. The program has had a profound impact on central Georgia’s veterans community. Pets Love Vets helps once-troubled veterans achieve a measure of peace and tranquility. PetsLoveVetsRotary.org
