Detailed description

The Youth Now Farm is located on National Capital Commission land at 5039 Russell Road, Ottawa. It is operated by a non-profit board of directors, (Youth Now Canada) and is comprised of a mixed farming operation on 75 acres of land. The farm program provides opportunities for disadvantaged youth to learn coping and job skills in a real-life context under the supervision of trained youth workers. The project provided the groundwork for professional design and planning for a commercial kitchen and a classroom in a historically restored barn that is being refurbished by the National Capital Commission.
