Rotaract Dharan Ghopa started " Rotaract Shakschyarta Pariyojana" an adult literacy project with the main goal to make illiterate people literate.
The Objectives of the project was to enable the learners to learn basic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic so as to make them self-reliant in day to day life and to broaden their knowledge about health by providing health education on common health topics like environmental sanitation, hand washing. Family planning, etc. The classes were conducted 2 hours a day based on the curriculum developed by government of Nepal. Each participants were taught by one rotaractor each. A short health education was conducted at the end of each session. It initiated with short introductory class then writing name of self & family members, revision & to read words & write them, taught them to look the calendar, to identify upto 50 in nepali.and from 1 to 10 in English, to identify upto 71 in nepali & write the learnt words.
