Detailed description

Conducted jointly with Rotary Club of Durbarmarg, our twin club, twin club:Rotaract Club of Phulbari and Eco-Himal Nepal, a national NGO,with the aim of providing safe drinking water to the students of Shree Dugdheshwar Madhyamik Vidhyalaya, a government school lagging behind in economical terms of Panchkhal Municipality of Kavre(47,5kms from Ktm). Students drank visibly unsafe water directly from the water source which underwent no method of purification. We installed 14 low-cost colloidal silver-enhanced ceramic water filters with a very good filtration rate( 4l/hr) and a 12ltr. total capacity. Manufactured in the local Nepali markets, this is a traditional practice and an affordable means of availing safe drinking water to those lacking access to safe drinking water. These filters totally suited the warm and humid climate of the area. We also handed Rs.8,000/- over to the school management committee as the seed money, formed by opening a joint account with RAC Phulbari.
