END POLIO CHALLENGE

District 7040 Rotarians donate to help Rotary meet the Gates Foundation challenge.

Completed

Detailed description

When members of the Kingston and Kingston-Frontenac Clubs clubs learned of the 18-19 Polio Fund shortfall, members generously offered to match personally any new End Polio Now contributions made by members of their club this Rotary year, up to a total of $500. The club board then agreed to do the same. And, then other Rotarians joined the challenge. Soon other clubs in the district had joined the challenge. Clubs and individual Rotarians donated to save children's lives. Rotarians donated $21,600 USD in June to bring the year's total to $77,756 USD.
