Evaluación de las necesidades de la comunidad: Modo que utilizó el equipo del proyecto para identificar las necesidades de la comunidad.
The district of Lares, according to INEI, is one of the poorest districts in Peru. The population of Lares lacks the financial or essential capacity to maintain minimum standards of survival. In other words, their economic income is so low that they cannot cover their basic unsatisfied needs, among them, the possibility of accessing oral health not only as an opportunity but also as a right.
At the national level, according to the 2017 INEI census, poverty due to Unsatisfied Basic Needs (UBN) reaches 25.3%, chronic malnutrition 12.2% and anemia 43.5%. In Cusco, poverty due to UBN increases to 26.9%, chronic malnutrition to 18.1% and anemia to 44.8%. In the province of Calca, where the district of Lares is located, poverty decreases to 34.8%, chronic malnutrition increases to 18.8% and anemia decreases to 30%.

In order to measure the impact of the project, a baseline will be established based on a sample of 200 people under 14 years old and, to a lesser extent, adults over 65, randomly selected 30 to be screened.
Such information collected for the baseline will be cross-checked with the local health facility. For the present project, two indicators will be used: one to measure the population under 14 years old and the other to measure the progress of those over 65. In the first case, for the population under 14, the presence of dental cavities will be measured and for the population over 65, the presence of periodontitis will be used.
The following table shows the measurement of the impact of the project, that is, the number of direct and indirect beneficiaries of the project intervention
