Members of the Rotary Club of Accra East undertook a medical outreach at the Community Health Planning Service (CHPS) Compound at Sege in the Ada West District. As part of the Outreach Programme, the Club also donated assorted medical items worth several thousand cedis to the community. The items included maternity delivery sets, impregnated mosquito nets, dewormers for adults and children, cartons of cough syrups, multivitamin syrups, examination gloves and condoms.
Over three hundred members of the immediate community benefited from the health screening exercise which involved test for blood sugar and blood pressure of adult males and pregnant and lactating mothers. Several children were also dewormed and given multivitamin syrup.
In handing over the items, the President of the Club, Mr Bright Semanu Attah, informed the District Health Nurse, Madam Cecilia Arthur that the donation and outreach programme constitute an integral part of the work of Rotary globally.
