The project aimed to attain inclusive economic growth in a rice growing rural community. The farmers were perpetually indebted to loan sharks and rice traders.The farmers remain poor due to lack of capital and technical knowledge. The Rotarians worked with the Caritas Diocese & PinoyME Foundation to implement the project with a shared vision that agro enterprise is a way out of poverty. The project aimed to empower the rice farmers in key areas. We provided Php 3 million microcredit fund.Trainings were conducted to enhance the knowledge and skills of the staff in managing the rice mill & to develop a comprehensive & sustainable Rice Agriculture Technology & Rice Milling Facility management. We conducted field visits and group discussions amongst groups of farmer beneficiaries. And to increase the capacity of the farmers association to maintain their sustainable & profitable agro enterprise, the project implementers trained, mentored and organized the farmer organisations into an RCC.
