In Peru, the occurrence of most forest fires has an anthropic origin, since one of the main causes is related to activities to enable cultivation fields. Grassland fires, in the last five years, have affected 93,365.80 hectares and destroyed 94,239.90 hectares with vegetation cover. The department of Cusco is the one with the highest number of districts affected by fires with 58 districts. Grassland fires involves not only enormous damage to the environment, but also economic losses for the inhabitants because of the crops that are lost.
