Blaenau Gwent 1010

Members of the Rotary Club of Abertillery and Blaina walk 100 miles for charity

Completed

Detailed description

Richard Bevan, Sharon Harford and Steve Harford, of Abertillery and Blaina Rotary Club, walked 100 miles around Blaenau Gwent for three charities: National Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) Society, which helps people with a form of spinal arthritis, Kidney Wales Foundation, which supports kidney patients and families and promotes excellence in renal research, and Carers Trust South East Wales, which offers support and delivers high quality services for unpaid carers and people with care needs. Their 100 mile challenge incorporated 10 themed walks covering the beautiful landscape of Blaenau Gwent and marking some of the most important historical and political sites and landmarks in the County Borough. Not only did they raise £700 for each of the charities, but they raised awareness of Rotary International and the beauty of Blaenau Gwent in the process.
