Sagip Calumpit is a disaster readiness project. Spearheaded by RC Intramuros in cooperation with several Rotary & Innerwheel Clubs across several districts and supported by private companies. We aim to provide the capability to assist the local community even before any calamity like typhoon and flooding strikes. This project will benefit the communities in Calumpit who have been suffering from perennial flood waters for months and where 20 out of 29 barangays are affected each year. The project scope includes (1) distribution of rescue boats and life saving devices, (2) give free screening / medical check up for disease prevention, (3) donate antibiotics and creams for treating leptospirosis and other skin ailments, (4) give comfort needs and supplies, (5) assist during calamity time and (6) teach emergency disaster preparedness. Finally, through this project, we also created new bonds among all of us, it surely is one that Connects The World!
