A gift giving event for the Silungan ng Pag-Asa (House of Hope) children.
Silungan ng Pag-Asa is a temporary shelter in Paco, Manila, Philippines where cancer-afflicted children from far away provinces as far as Jolo, Sulu were temporary housed while having treatment at the Philippine General Hospital. The shelter needed some voluntary help from kind-hearted people to sustain maintenance of the shelter. RC Dewey for its part brought some cheers for these children and donated goods for the Silungan like cavans of rice, milk and everyday needs of the Silungan to maintain its operation to help the poor children. Our club members pooled together what we can donate for the house. Children individually as well as the attending parents were given gifts like t-shirt and toys. 5 RC rotarians including Maricel Tagulao, Milanel Tarayo, Beth Santos and yours truly, and volunteer friends joined the gift giving.
