Detailed description

The project was carried out on Banda Island, one of the many Islands of Ssese. Its on 250 acres, occupied by approximately 420 people. The Island had one latrine shared by the community leading to the spread of diseases such as bilihazia, typhoid, cholera and others, a broken borehole thus no protected water source with no medical facility as people have to move long distances to access medical services. The club therefore decided to construct a VIP latrine that was commissioned on the 21 of October 2017, carried out a medical camp to offer medical services to the community, planted 230 trees within the community and also sensitized on menstrual hygiene and distributed reusable sanitary pad to schooling girls. The project was well attended by the community members and was also attended by seven clubs from Kenya spear headed by our partner, Rotaract club of Nairobi central D9212, our twin club from Tanzania, Rotaract Club of Young Professionals and eight clubs from Uganda D 9211.
