Detailed description

Aiykos Health Clinic is situated about 3/4 hour by road from the main hospital in Kompiam, a remote area in Enga Province of the western highlands of Papua New Guinea. The original water tanks had rusted and were unusable so staff were required to walk a considerable distance to a nearby river to obtain water for both patients and staff. The Rotary Club of Naracoorte, with a Rotary Foundation grant from District 9780, was able to pay for the purchase of the tanks and their transport to the site. Members of the Club helped with their installation during a Work Party at Kompiam Hospital.
