Detailed description

Ramanahalli is a village about 19 Km from Chikkanayakanahalli.Due to extensive mining the ground water here is completely contaminated with fluorides and other contaminants. The rural community, that is very poor cannot afford to have a water filter, there were condemned to drink hard water resulting in extensive fluorsis and skin disease like psoriasis. The only way to remedy the situation was to install a modern water purification plant that caters to the community need of pure potable water on sustained basis. The community requested Rotary Metro to install such water purification plant in the village. Rotarians of the Metro went to the village and conducted extensive survey of the needs of the village. Based on the report, it was decided to install a community based RO plant of 200000 liters water processing plant to cater to the entire village. The project was estimated to be around USD 10,000. The project was launched with Govt of Karnataka through the village development fund
