Detailed description
On the first Saturday in February and March each year, club members donate their time, as well as their pooled knowledge and experience to manage the largest country fair in the Southern hemisphere. The main objective is to raise funds from selling site space to stallholders, which we then put back into the community the rest of the year in the form of grants and bursaries. The fair also benefits the community by attracting tourists to come and experience our region, and we also reward community groups for helping us manage certain aspects of the fair. We also give preference to local artists and craftspeople, but we still require that their products are of a high quality. We enjoy the fellowship brought about by working together on such a worthwhile project, while interacting in a positive manner with members of our community, and other groups within our community.
