Rotaract Club of Owerri Community Base, partnered with Rotary Club of Owerri Metropolitan to conduct free hepatitis test in Orji Market in Imo State. The free test covers Hepatitis A, B AND C and recommended those who tested positive for medical treatment. At the end of the Exercise we screened over 256 persons and the joy or beauty of the exercise is that we got over 14 new young professionals who indicated its interest to join the club and has since been inducted.

Community assessment: How the project team learned about the community’s needs

In commemoration of the world hepatitis day, we choose the location as most people in the market including traders most times do not have/find time to go to hospital for screening and check up. as such we decided to take the screening to there doorstep and we ended up making all happy.

The project went a long way to impact as the community wwas very greatful to Rotary.

Sustainability: How the benefits of the project will continue afterward

We adviced the beneficiaries to find time to visit the hospital on a regular base and we have there contacts for follow up
