Detailed description
These two health centers are staffed by doctors and nurses from the Ministry of Health at least one day per week, and serve a population of 2,550 people in two rural communities that lack access to potable water, sanitation and health services. The previous year the Rotary Club partners had done major repairs & funded ongoing training for 4 health promoters plus 4 first aid kits. Building on that experience, this project expanded to ongoing training for 6 community health promoters, 6 in-home first aid kits w/ nebulizers, blood pressure cuffs & glucometers. This project also completed the renovations to the health centers, making them 100% usable by restoring electricity & plumbing, replacing damaged floors, adding wheelchair accessible ramps, interior divisions, benches, tables & cabinets, and finally painting. Members of partner Clubs in the U.S. visited to help with renovations and re-inaugurate the two centers.
