Pulse-oximetres for all hospitals in Bénin
Thanks to the efforts of RC Genk Staelen - D1630- and their contactclub RC Cotonou Centre- D9102- all hospitals in Bénin were provided with 2 oximetres.That means that eventually mortality during anesthesia by operations can be reduced from 1 patient in 177 surgeries to 1 patient in 177.000 operations..Pulse-oximetry improves the security during anesthesia and could be used in the undevelopped countrys thanks to the WFSA and Lifebox Foundation in according with the medical team from Prof. Ph. Baele and prof. M. Chobli.After 3 years of intense work,the medical team has succeeded to provide all the 55 hospitals in Bénin with pulse-oximetry by the support of The Rotary Foundation with a contribution of 39.000 USD.The humanitarian action "Benin saturatio 100 % " is closed on september 12 -2014 by " the Didactic Conference" at the University of Cotonou in presence of all involved parties as well as the representative of the Ministry of Health.
