SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups, spanning ages 8 to 18. Through dynamic sessions, participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.

"Smart Girls is an important program for young women and girls ages 8-18. The program provides girls with the tools they need to build healthy attitudes and lifestyles. We employ a variety of activities that help girls develop their social, emotional and leadership skills. This is a recipe that will lead the girls on a road to success.

Project impact: How the project will help the community after the project ends

The Smart Girls Program is for Girls ages 8 thru 18. It’s a great program that teaches girls Health and Life skills, the importance of having high self esteem, and confidence, how to build positive friendships and relationships, staying healthy, choosing a path of becoming leaders, not followers and striving to become successful, confident women that will contribute to society in a positive way.

Sustainability: How the benefits of the project will continue afterward

There is so much to teach and so much for the girls to learn. Times are changing and we now live in a social media world. This gives our girls so much access on what is going on in the world on a daily basis.
