Detailed description
Our club's signature project, Bisley Farm, continues to thrive and expand.Cattle are raised on the property and when ready sent to a butcher and meat sent to Foodbankfor distribution to homeless shelters and church groups. All done free of charge
Our application for a Rotary Foundation Global Grant of US$25000 was approved and together with our own club's contribution of a further US$10000 we have provided the necessary infrastructure to provide feed lots on the leased property as well as purchasing more stock. We were also successful in obtaining a Rotary Foundation District Grant of $3000 matching our further contribution of another $3000 to purchase cattle.
In this partnership with Arethusa College, it is responsible for the educational needs of the students working with our cattle and as part of the program it has developed a rodeo school that students participate in every Friday, conditional of them attending basic educational classes on other days in the week.
