Chiang Mai Trishaw Project is a Global Grant Project which is contributed by the host, Rotary Club of Chiang Mai District 3360 Thailand with Rotary Club of Kobe South, and several clubs in District 2680 Japan. Also supported by local universities and business. The project aims to improve the quality of life of 67 or almost all of trishaw riders in chiang mai which are old and poor. As the oldest trishaw rider is currently 97 years old !!. The project began by fixing trishaws to acceptable condition. Then, train riders with skills such as trishaw maintenance,communication, health care,and tour guiding while providing uniforms to raise their image. Tour routes and programs are commercially organised and transfered to Chiang Mai Trishaw RCC which is chartered for riders to sustain original intentions.These actions raise their income from 20 Baht per ride to the rate of 400.
