One of the greatest challenges we face in Education and Literacy in disadvantaged communities is the lack of resources , funding and trained teachers . Creches and pre-schools are formed by community members , creating a safe environment for children during the day , but these "teachers" or "minders" lack the skills to provide a stimulating environment for these children . "Step by Step" is a pre-school learning program , which contains full lesson plans , activities , timetables and is designed with these community pre-schools in mind. Training is also provided to the "teachers" in the implementation and use of the Learning Programme . Education is the greatest gift , and we are hoping to provide these pre-schools around South Africa with the Learning Programme , through fundraising and a Global Grant .We are currently looking for Rotary Clubs overseas to partner with us on this vital project to lift levels of teaching and learning in these community pre- schools .
