Detailed description
Members donated Food packages to the very poor of the Jordan community of Dhiban (about 50 Km south of Amman).
The food package, on the occasion of the fasting month of Ramadan, contains rice, lentils, juices, canned food, cooking oil, dates, soup, powder milk, wheat, jam etc.
Each package weighs about 17 kgs (about 40 lbs) and should be sufficient for the receiving family to use for the whole month of Ramadan.
The project was the first project of the new Rotary year and was joined by many members of the club. The day started by packing and labeling the packages with the club's name and message of good wishes to the receiving families.
The participants then moved to Dhiban about 50 kms south of Amman, where the receiving families were waiting for the club. Coordinating the efforts and order were the partners in identifying the needy families, Jordanian Foodbank and a local NGO that organizes the logisticsfor the families, time, order, verification etc.
