Detailed description
Our club filled food bags for families in need. We worked with the CAP Agency (the largest social service network in our county) to identify 50 families who would benefit from our food bags. We did this between Thanksgiving and Christmas to fill that gap. We worked with our local grocer to get a discounted price for the items and his staff made sure we had everything we needed. We also chose to make these bags special by including food for multiple meals as well as extra treats. Chicken, lasagna, vegetables, potatoes, fruit, rolls, and other items were packed based on the number of family members. We added toiletries, candy and pencils and activity books for kids. We topped off the bags with a whole pie and a half gallon of ice cream. Other club members delivered the bags to the families. The club spent $2700 to make this project a success.
