Detailed description
On January 11, 2014 Rotary Clubs of Amman West, Wangen Isny Leutkirch & other Rotary Clubs in Jordan, Rotaract & Interact clubs of Amman West launched a project to plant a forest of Deciduous Oak trees (the Jordanian National Tree) in the Berain Area in Jordan as part Al-Shajarah Association Forest (Jordan). Initially starting with the planting of 500 trees in the area, the clubs hope to receive further funding to expand the project.
The project comes as part of an initiative to counter the act of desertification, reduce the carbon footprint of different Rotarians while promoting international cooperation, understanding & peace. The project will continue for the years to come as the forest expands.
