On Thursday, 29 August, 2019, The Rotary Club of Flatonia held a community orientation night for Rotarians and guests at Henry K’s, in downtown Flatonia. This year’s Rotary International theme is “Rotary Connects the World”, and the presentation, given by president, Bernie Satterwhite, explained who Rotary is and why the Rotary Club of Flatonia is striving to connect with our community, especially our youth.
Among the youth projects that the Rotary Club of Flatonia is involved with, include scholarships for high school seniors, sponsoring students, pre-K to 5th grade, in Early Act First Knight, sponsoring high school juniors in the Heritage Pride Tour, sponsoring students, ages 12 - 18 in the Rotary Interact Club, a student in the 4H & FFA Livestock Show, and high school students attending the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Satterwhite remarked, “It was a fun night of fellowship, sharing who we are, and why we are the Center of Service.
