Detailed description
The Chifundo Rural Health Clinic was established in 2013 on the campus of the Zambia International Bible College. Since then it has expanded its outreach to the region meeting the needs of more than 2,500 patients per month, many of whom had never been to a physician. It is certified by the Zambian Ministry of Health. There is great demand to meet the nutritional and medical needs of expectant mothers and children. Because of the limitation of staff and facilities an expansion was begun in 2016 to become a hospital and is now nearly finished. Rotary District 5630 is sending a container of surplus and refurbished medical equipment and supplies to help equip the hospital. After providing the medical equipment we intend to supply the needed reagents for the laboratory equipment for 3 years, which will be procured locally to ensure they remain fresh. We are also supplying a generator to help ensure a reliable supply of electricity when solar power is insufficient.
