Financial Savvy

Financial education to learners, young adults and community members

The program helps people identify their "Money Personality" and covers aspects on budgeting, saving, debt, effects of compound interest, setting financial goals, maintaining healthy credit scores, source funding for further studies or starting a business, developing a business plan. The program runs for 5 weeks (1 hour a week) and is interactive and practical exercises assist delegates to have a better understanding of their finances. After completion of the course delegates have a budget that makes sense, a savings plan, understand when it makes sense to have debt, a fool proof debt reduction plan, realistic financial plans and a business plan when applicable. Delegates from the age of 12 to 60 have taken part in both urban areas as well as informal settlements. The program continues to be rolled out at schools and community centres giving delegates the best chance to financial freedom.
