The supply of specialized wheelchairs and beds for mentally & physically disabled children
Global Grant 1639622:- The Rotary Club of Warmbaths are partnered with the Kiewiet Fond's Hasselt, the Rotary Club Fort Collins (Colorado), District D9400, Shonaquip (South Africa) and the Uhambo Foundation in a Global Grant to raise funds for refurbishing, training, awareness, specialized wheelchairs & beds for Huis Talje. Huis Talje is an unique home for severely mentally & physically disabled children, most of whom are abandoned. The Shonaquip buggies are specialized wheelchairs designed to provide full body and head support for individuals who cannot sit independently and need more support than a conventional wheelchair has to offer. The special beds for handicapped children are to assist the caretakers as the children thrash around when lying down, injuring themselves and the other children. Apart from the above mentioned the following Rotary clubs have bought into this grant: Fort Collins (Breakfast), Austin, South Austin, Arlington (Sunrise), District 4130 Mexico & Uhambo USA.
