Raising Education Levels in the Community
1.Library orientation continues it involves neighbouring schools and creches.
2.Teaching of information skills grade 7
A program of training grade 7 learners and equiping them with information skills - s to acquire the ability to access knowledge and facts and to apply these to the real world. We reached almost 519 learners in 5 primary schools:
3.Project files - research on popular themes/topics and displays by library staff/volunteers. We do mini research to serve as a guide to learners.
4.Soul Buddyz meet every Tuesday afternoon at KwaNdengezi Education Center (Siyanakekela Club) in conjuction with other Soul Buddyz Clubs and KwaNdengezi community started an Adopt a river project. They cleared bushes and cleaned the river by removing waste and put it in plastic bags. The River now flows clearly and a Garden project has started.
5. Career Information Centre
(a) Helping learners to fill in CAO forms, bursary forms etc.
(b) Careers day with Grade 7-9
