Detailed description
Main objective is to prevent suburb children from getting involved in crime and bad habits by teaching them to play musical instruments free of charge. In one of the most impoverished inner-city neighbourhood, 500 disadvantaged children were determined by our club to implement the project. Second floor of the present Municipal Service Building was assigned to the project for 3 years. Musical education will be provided by the Music for Peace Foundation, already providing free music education to as many children as possible and to spread the sound of peace in İstanbul Edirnekapı Neighbourhood. Our club will provide all musical instruments and all other equipments.This project will be a centre of solidarity and sharing with the active participation of the families. Its doors will be open to all children who desire to engage in music without any discrimination or level of ability. Being a member of an orchestra will increase the children’s sense of belonging, respect and self-confidence.
