1st meeting each month. Transcends typical Rotary format. Develops fellowship & community outreach.
1st Thursday meetings were conceived to energize the fellowship of the club and to achieve more effective club connections to business owners in Nevada City, CA. To that end, we structured the first meeting of the month very differently from our usual lunch meeting.
1st Thurs is held at 5:30PM in the bar of the historic National Hotel with a $5.00 ‘cover charge’ for appetizers and a cash bar. Members are encouraged to bring spouses and friends.
We showcase a local business owner who gives a presentation. Club business is minimized to allow significant time for members to network and brainstorm as well as preserve time for the Merchant Showcase presentation.
Mixers have been wildly successful, bringing attendance levels to new heights, forging new connections among members, and solidifying connections with local business owners.
After working hours are easy to attend, maximizes fun for our club and has proven to be a good recruitment tool for potential new members.
