Detailed description

The Philippines is the third most exposed country to disasters; visited by about 20 typhoons; is exposed to occurrence of earthquakes; and has more than 200 known volcanoes with at least 22 active ones. Potentially resulting in loss of lives. The Rotary Club of Dasmarinas Cavite (RCDC) conducted a Disaster Preparedness and Rescue Orientation to 100 Barangay (community) Health workers, Barangay Tanod (community watchmen) and community workers at Brgy Salawag, City of Dasmarinas, Cavite. The participants received whistles for emergency use. Selected participants also received packs rice, raincoats, and sets of Blood Pressure Monitoring Apparatus from RCDC. The orientation was conducted by Mr. Lito Maro S. Agpa. Mr. Agpa is a Disaster Management & Safety instructor. He is also an emergency responder, Basic Emergency Technician , Wilderness Emergency Technician and a member of Wilderness Search and Rescue Philippines.
