An event was organized to celebrate the World Polio Day on the 24th October 2015. A Motor Rally consists of 86 vehicles parade a distant of 85 KM through six electorates to increase the awareness of the Rotary and its contribution to eradicate Polio from the face of the earth. A media conference was organized prior to the event to give wide publicity. The rally commenced at 8.00a.m. from Negombo with the flag off by the Chief Guest, DG George and concluded at 1.00p.m. at the same venue. A live coverage by a local radio channel was given. There was wide publicity given on this radio channel for 10 days prior to the event and pre & post event reports were published in many print media and some electronic media. Three other Rotary clubs i.e. Pamunugama, Wattala & Ja-ela/Kandana greeted and wished us for our project when we travelled through their cities. Road across banners (both sides) in Negombo-Colombo main road in two locations were also fixed.
