Knowledge is from a well reading habit;and this is the main kernel belief to plan a service for promoting "Basic education and literacy" service – one of Rotary's six areas of focus. In order to enhance kids’ reading capabilities, their parents must be taught to help their kids to read efficiently.
Taiwan D3460 Rotary Club of Tachia Centennial engages her service action to donate new reading books for young couples with 0-5 ages kids to kick off a BOOKSTART day in cooperating with Tachia Public Library, Taichung city. Over 130 families in community have applied to join this activity and receive a gift bag with new reading books inside. All new books used in this BOOKSTART are recommended by Taichung city Education bureau and instructed to use from their instruction lectures. The young parents must go through all lectures held by librarians to enhance their help-kids-to-read skills to fulfill the qualification to get the gift bag.
