Detailed description
Three years ago The Rotary Club of Wollondilly North, D9750 proposed a Joint Freshwater Project with its Sister ClubThe Rotary Club of Kumamoto Joto, Japan D2720 Discussions between the then Presidents, Soichi Nagata ( Kumamoto Joto) and Warwick Richardson (Wollondilly North) began on the idea of helping to provide fresh water to an area in another country. After an uncanny chain of events in mid 2011 the destiny of the Joint Fresh Water Project was determined. Our target area was set for schools in the Province of Lopburi, Thailand. Our two clubs then teamed up with another Japanese club The Rotary Club of Kumamoto Rindou, The Thai Rotary Club of Lopburi Pranarai and the Thai Monkey Bike Lopburi Motorcycle Club. In March 2012 a party from The Rotary Club of Wollondilly North visited Thailand along with Japanese and Thai Partners in the project to inspect the first installed unit with 18 more schools to receive the systems over the coming months and will provide 6500 kids with water.
