Detailed description

The 150 persons studying, teaching and living at Wai district school didnt have access to a constant water supply. Problems with villages around the school often ended up in the school not having enough water for basic needs such as showers, toilets, etc. Kids and staff had to fill up drums in the morning to bring water to the toilet block, kitchen, staff quarters, etc. Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation (RPW) dug a borehole and installed pipes from the borehole to the school. In a second phase, RPW is looking at upgrading the whole water reticulation system within the school. Rotary Club of Suva East in partnership with the Rotary Club of Gloucester, TRF and the RPW's Corporate donors (Fiji Water and Vodafone) funded this project. For more information, please visit RPW's website: www.rotarypacificwater.org.
